I’m a visual artist and sometime writer based in South East London. I work across a range of dry media, and in digital media. Currently my interests are in masculinity, fragility, violence and trauma. Despite that, I am more fun at parties than you might expect.
Why ‘Catford Massive’?
I am the Catford Massive. Yes, it is only me. I had decided to set up a dangerous street gang originally, but I just couldn’t get any takers. In my head, I thought it would be like West Side Story. But nobody wants to click their fingers these days, and my dancing wasn’t up to the standard of Moscow 17. Mate, those guys do ROLLERDISCO. Also, the rough boys were unconvinced by my Nathalie Wood outfit. It turned out there wasn’t a place for us after all.
I live with two cats and an adult male, all three of whom rely on me to feed them and clean their toilet.
My writing appears here and in various journals and academic collections. My works for theatre have been performed in the UK and Italy.
Artworks are for sale as prints on demand. Drop me a line in the contact box.
All of the opinions expressed on this site are my own, and have nothing to do with any organisations I may be involved with now or at any time in the past. Except my now-lapsed membership of the Preston Library ‘Little Owls’ Book Club’, which formed me entirely from 1983-4. They are fully responsible for all of this, most especially the swearing and penis jokes.
