A touch of rococo

Is it rococo or baroque? I would say the former. And normally I hate rococo but the colours in this one are beautiful. And I needed to find something to practice digital paint in London’s National Gallery. So François Lemoyne’s The Annunciation (1727) was it. Below the finished (?) result, and a quick time lapse of painting it in procreate. Caused great excitement amongst French schoolchildren while I was painting it. The 15 year old boys were overexcited and very impressed and said so excitedly and gathered around almost piled on top of each other like otters. The 15 year old girls stood with an air of aloof disgust, their scarves tied around their necks, and made remarks about how ‘la technologies n’a pas l’essence’ to the boys. Assuming, of course, I couldn’t speak French (les Anglais sont les sauvages, tu sais….).
